LG announces new QNED Mini-LED TVs ahead of CES 2021

LG Electronics has announced it will be introducing its first ever QNED Mini-LED TVs. Don’t be mistaken however, because the “QNED” as LG is using here DOES NOT stand for “ Quantum Nano Emitting Diodes” a next-gen display technology expected to bring the goodness of OLED and QLED displays through the use of nanorod LEDs. Instead, LG is using the QNED branding by taking the Q from its Quantum dot TVs, and the N from its NANOCELL TVs. The company explains that the QNED Mini-LED TV combines its Quantum dot and NanoCell technology, producing incredibly accurate colours with advanced LED backlight offering better contrast and deeper blacks for images, while rendering motion more smoothly and naturally. There’s a new panel structure enhanced by LG’s Mini LED backlighting that gives the TVs a life-like feel, which the company says will deliver a truly immersive experience.
