Several airports in Upstate New York will receive money as part of the federal COVID-19 relief package that was passed last month. The Elmira Corning Regional Airport is just one of the several air.
Now it just needs more vaccine from the state.
County officials Monday unveiled a new mass vaccination site at the former Wings of Eagles Discovery Center on the Elmira Corning Regional Airport property in Big Flats.
The sprawling former museum complex has been set up to vaccinate as many as 1,000 people a day, and is laid out and clearly marked to create a constant flow of foot traffic in one direction to help maintain social distancing.
The facility will replace the existing county-run vaccination site at the Arctic League headquarters on West Clinton Street in Elmira, said County Executive Christopher Moss.
