Recent death is a reminder of issues facing homeless population
The Daily Jeffersonian
The recent discovery of a 31-year-old man s body inside an abandoned church in Cambridge has once again raised awareness of issues facing the city s homeless population. The same people who are prone to drug and alcohol use will often find themselves homeless, said Roberta Combs, a coordinator at the Freedom House Homeless Shelter. But there is help for them.
The shelter is a ministry of Called to Freedom Fellowship and as a result, has specific rules and regulations that must be followed at the facility on North Fourth Street in Cambridge.

Licensed social worker joins city school district

We all know that financial resources for school districts continue to come up short of meeting the needs of students. One way Cambridge Schools makes up for a lack of funding is by pursuing mutually beneficial partnerships with other local entities.
Recently, the school district partnered with Allwell Behavioral Health Services to provide additional counselling and support to the students in the district. While the school district has cooperated with mental health agencies in the past, through this partnership, Allwell will provide a full time licensed social worker dedicated exclusively to the Cambridge City School District.
