ELLWOOD CITY – Wes Shipley is no longer interim superintendent for the Ellwood City Area School District.
The school board voted 7-2 at a special virtual meeting Friday night to hire Shipley to a five-year contract as the permanent superintendent. Board members Erica Gray and Jennifer Tomon voted against the move.
According to the board, Shipley will earn an annual salary of about $150,000 per year and will not use district health insurance. Tomon said his total compensation still would average about $212,000 per year.
