The plaintiff in Emmanuel v. Handy Technologies, Inc. had submitted an application through the website of a company that assigns housecleaning jobs to workers and clicked a checkbox agreeing to its terms of use. She subsequently used the company’s mobile app to accept an independent contractor agreement, which was required for her to be connected with customers.
