Wilkes Medical Center receives A again for patient safety

Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Medical Center received an “A” in the Fall 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing the hospital’s achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization driven by employers and other purchasers of health care with a goal of improving health care quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. Leapfrog assigns “A” through “F” letter grades each spring and fall to over 2,600 participating general acute-care hospitals nationwide based on their performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care. Wilkes Medical Center received an “A” this spring also.
