EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Parts of Lincoln Avenue are closed following a water main break on Thursday evening.
According to Evansville Water Sewer Utility, the roadway is closed to all eastbound and westbound traffic between St. Maryâs Drive and Trinity Drive.
Authorities say the break happened near Evansville State Hospital.
EWSU officials urge drivers to stay away from the area.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville water officials say the intersection at N. Red Bank Road and Booker Road was closed for several hours after a contractor hit a water main.
The closure blocked traffic between New Harmony Road and Upper Mount Vernon Road, but officials say the road is back open.

Part of Columbia St. to close for water improvement project

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Columbia Street in Evansville will be closed from Heidelback to Governor Street starting Friday.
It will also close from Evans Street to Governor and Evans to the west of Fares Avenue.
That’s all part of the “Refresh Evansville” water improvement project.
Officials with the Evansville Water Sewer Utility say those closures are expected to last for the next four months.
