Stena Drilling has said the measure fails to take account of the extensive measures it has taken to ensure that people operating in countries the UK Government has deemed high risk, such as Guyana, are not exposed to the virus. The Aberdeen-based firm’s chief operations officer, Chris Carbaugh, said staff are required to stay in isolation in hotels before travelling to drillships offshore.
