Surveillance video capture the moment an armed man attempted to kidnap an 11-year-old Florida girl as she was waiting for the school bus.
The incident happened Tuesday morning in West Pensacola, Florida. In the video, the girl can be seen sitting in the grass when a white Dodge Journey pulls up and stops nearby.
A man gets out of the vehicle, runs towards the girl, and tries to grab her. The girl manages to escape by kicking and fighting back enough to convince the attacker to run off without harming her. He got back into his vehicle and drives off.

Six people were shot at an Escambia County apartment complex Thursday evening.
About 6 p.m., a dark colored vehicle pulled into the Oakwood Terrace Apartments complex at 700 Truman Avenue and several people opened fire.
“A group of people exited that vehicle and just started opening fire. We estimated at least a dozen rounds have been fired,” said Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons. “They were shooting indiscriminately into a group of people.”
Five people were taken to Baptist and Sacred Heart hospital. One other person suffered minor injuries.
As of late Thursday night, no arrests had been reported.

Pensacola s national police chief search down to three candidates
The finalists are:
John Ortolano, chief of police of Hobbs Police Department in Hobbs, New Mexico
Eric Randall, assistant chief of police at Newport News Police Department in Newport News, Virginia
Pensacola hired Public Sector Search & Consulting Inc. to conduct a nationwide search for Lyter s replacement. The search resulted in the selection of eight final candidates, who then were ranked by a city selection committee. The top three candidates chosen by the committee will participate in a public candidate forum, as well as an interview with city officials.
Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson will ultimately make the final selection for who to name as chief, and the Pensacola City Council will vote on whether to approve the hire.
