Statue of Mahatma Gandhi to be erected in Tallinn 2021-01-12 BNS/TBT Staff
TALLINN - The City of Tallinn in cooperation with the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is planning to erect a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the capital city.
The City of Tallinn and the Foreign Ministry have signed a cooperation agreement seeking to boost relations between Estonia and India and receive the bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi gifted by the Republic of India in a dignified way.
Pursuant to the cooperation agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hand over the statue to the City of Tallinn and make a support payment of 50,000 euros to the city, which Tallinn will be obligated to use for erecting a monument to Mahatma Gandhi.

The ban on air passenger transport is temporary, the government will review it when more information about a new coronavirus variant becomes available.
