The day began with a highly anticipated moment: Benetti received the COVID-19 vaccine. On its own, this would’ve made his day fantastic, Benetti said, but not even two hours following the shot, Benetti received a call from NBC offering him the position of baseball play-by-play announcer at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
