Walk-ins Welcome at Upcoming Campus Vaccine Clinics
OHIO students, faculty and staff, as well as community members, can select the COVID-19 vaccine of their preference at upcoming clinics to be held on the Ohio University Athens Campus May 6, May 7 and May 15.
The clinics will take place at Heritage Hall on Union Street on OHIO’s Athens campus, and will be hosted by the Athens City-County Health Department. Both the Pfizer (a two-dose vaccine) and Johnson & Johnson (a one-dose vaccine) will be available; attendees may select the vaccine they prefer.
Individuals may receive either a first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine; those who may have missed an appointment for a second Pfizer dose are encouraged to come get a second dose at any of these clinics.

Municipal health districts in some Ohio cities may be forced to merge with their county’s health departments within the next few years to save money and consolidate resources.
Officials in several of the small- and medium-sized cities that may be affected are critical of the state meddling with their local affairs.

Combined, these 113 health departments provide a wide array of health services, from restaurant inspections to maternal health programs. They have been active in 2021 with helping schedule and administer COVID-19 vaccinations.
