(WBRC) - Rainbow City Police confirm a man walked into a bank to rob it Christmas Eve and then walked out, right into an officer and was arrested. Investigators said Seth Hugh Rowland walked into Cadence Bank a little before 10:00 a.m. Thursday, passed the teller a note demanding $100 bills be put in a bag, walked out of the bank with $8,500, and then walked into Rainbow City Police Officer Jacob Works.

Birmingham man accused of stealing from Coates Bend area residence

Kenneth Alan Lawson, 39, is charged with first-degree theft of property, Investigator Will Farley said. Lawson was employed by a local flooring company, Farley said in a press release, and allegedly took property valued at $3,000 from a residence where work was being done. The owner of the construction company found property he suspected belonged to the home owner, Farley said, and contacted the victim before law enforcement had been notified of the theft. Deputies arrived at the site where Lawson was working and detained him, and Farley said they discovered more property from the residence. Lawson was charged and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.

Boaz area woman accused of causing serious injury with a weapon

A Boaz woman faces a felony domestic violence charge in connection with an incident last Thursday that injured another woman, according to Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton. Bailey Nicole Gaskin, 21, is charged with second-degree domestic violence, defined as causing serious physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument. Investigator Brandi Fuller said the incident remains under investigation. Deputies were called out Thursday morning for a fight involving weapons after a woman went to a neighbor s home and asked him to call 911, Horton said in a press release. The neighbor told investigators he didn t see what happened, that he just saw the victim, covered in blood, and called for help for her. Deputies arrived and found the woman bleeding from her head.
