He is accused of burglarizing a house that was under construction on Sumatanga Road in the Gallant community on Jan. 17. A generator and tools were taken from the unoccupied house, Grant said, and most of the items taken have been returned to the victim following a confession from Bright.
Bright was released from the Etowah County Detention Center on bonds totaling $3,500.
A Boaz woman faces a felony domestic violence charge in connection with an incident last Thursday that injured another woman, according to Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton.
Bailey Nicole Gaskin, 21, is charged with second-degree domestic violence, defined as causing serious physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument. Investigator Brandi Fuller said the incident remains under investigation.
Deputies were called out Thursday morning for a fight involving weapons after a woman went to a neighbor s home and asked him to call 911, Horton said in a press release.
The neighbor told investigators he didn t see what happened, that he just saw the victim, covered in blood, and called for help for her. Deputies arrived and found the woman bleeding from her head.
