Mildred Ruth Romine Smith of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at the age of 91.
She was the daughter of the late John Carlen and Nora Bell Hooks Mansel originally of Bethpage, Tn. With her late husband, they operated Ralph’s Coiffures for over 40 years in the Signal Mountain community. There she served as children’s Sunday School teacher and faithful member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church.
Known to all as “Ms Ruth,” she loved people. Ruth was always the consummate host whether at the shop or at her home. Everyone she met received her special, warm lilted “well hello there” that made you feel so special. If ever the label humble servant was fitting a persona, it was Ruth. Erlanger Reports Profitable Quarter With Help From Stimulus Funds Monday, January 25, 2021
Erlanger Health System CFO Britt Tabor reported at Monday’s Budget and Finance Committee meeting that the total net income from operations for the first six months of the fiscal year ending on Dec. 31 is $19,472,219 compared to a budgeted loss of $9,844,456 and prior year loss of $8,644,660.
The positive budget picture took into account stimulus funds received in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the quarterly report says.
That is allowable under one governmental reporting standard (FASB), but GASB requires the stimulus funds to be reported as non-operating income, it was stated.
