Finished his career at Florida as a Heisman Trophy finalist following the 2020 season. Completed 552‐ of‐813 passes for 7,386 yards and 69 touchdowns in 28 game appearances with the Gators.

The Manvel, Texas native led the FBS in total touchdowns (46) and touchdown passes (43), while ranking second in passing yards (4,283). Having started at quarterback in all ten games of the regular season, as well as the SEC Championship Game and the 85th Cotton Bowl Classic, Trask began his senior campaign with a jaw‐dropping performance during Florida s season opener at Ole Miss where he completed 30 throws on 42 attempts for 416 passing yards and six touchdowns. In 2018, Trevon Moehrig arrived at TCU as a four-star recruit and the fourth-ranked cornerback in all of Texas. None of that mattered to head coach Gary Patterson, though, so the talented freshman had to wait his turn behind defensive backs who had already earned their playing time.

McCormick joins wide receiver Jaelon Darden of North Texas, D’Eriq King of Miami (Fla.), Kellen Mond of Texas A&M and Kyle Trask (Florida) on the list of finalists for the award, which recognizes the top offensive player in college football with ties to the state of Texas. The winner will be announced at a virtual award banquet in Tyler in late January 2021. He is the first Roadrunner to land on the award’s finalist list
