A child has died after being struck by a motor vehicle in Sydney’s west.
About 7:20pm today (Wednesday 17 March 2021), emergency services responded to reports that two pedestrians had been hit by a Toyota Tarago on Rooty Hill Road North, Plumpton.
Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Police have been informed that the pedestrians were a 37-year-old woman and her five-year-old daughter.
They were conveyed by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Westmead Hospital with the woman being in a serious but stable condition and the child in a critical condition.
The child later died at Westmead Hospital.
Family and friends are in mourning today after five-year-old Allanah Sobalewski was killed at a pedestrian crossing.
A van struck the little girl and her 25-year-old mother Taylor Maddock on Rooty Hill Road North in Plumpton last night.
Both were rushed to Westmead Hospital, but Allanah lost her fight.

Her mother is now in a stable but serious condition, undergoing surgery for a broken leg, pelvis and spine.
It is understood the pair were on their way to pick up pizza for dinner at around 7.30pm last night.

Two pedestrians, a woman and child, were treated by paramedics.
The five-year-old girl was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.
The woman suffered leg and back injuries and has been taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police charge man with possess child abuse material – Whalan
A man has been charged after child abuse material was allegedly found during a search of a home in Sydney’s west last week.
About 2:30pm last Thursday (14 January 2021), officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended a home on Bulolo Drive, Whalan, for a routine check of the premises.
Officers found hundreds of indecent images allegedly stored on a gaming device in lounge room of the home.
The equipment was seized and will undergo further digital forensic analysis.
A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with possess child abuse material.
