GARDNER Mount Wachusett Community College has received more than $1.1 million from the state to assist adult students in the community in furthering their education.
The Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) unit of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has awarded MWCC a grant totaling $1,108,106 to support basic skills education, occupational training and post-secondary enrollment for adult learners in the region.
The Adult Education Services Continuation grant of $958,106 funds free access for eligible undereducated and limited English proficient adults, age 16 and older, to adult basic education services in 16 Workforce Investment Areas. The grant also includes $42,335 directed toward the Integrated Education and Training program HiSET/GED with certified nursing assistant (CNA) training, and an additional $37,665 is directed to the integrated English literacy and civics education program. Dental program graduates celebrated at MWCC pinning ceremony

GARDNER On Friday, May 14, MWCC welcomed 14 students, including Beatriz Padilla-Lazarin of Leominster, to the dental hygiene profession with a socially distant pinning ceremony outside the main entrance of the Gardner campus.
Director of Dental Education Programs Cindy Cadoret and the dental faculty members pinned the 14 students, all of whom received their Dental Hygiene Associate Degrees on Wednesday, May 19.
