PENSACOLA, Fla. TBC Corp. s Tire Kingdom Service Centers recently thanked medical staffers at two hospitals in Pensacola for their dedication in combating COVID-19.
Tire Kingdom recently opened its first locations in Pensacola, a city of 52,000-plus residents close to the Alabama border in the Florida panhandle.
On Jan. 29, Tire Kingdom arranged for employees of
Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital and Studer Family Children s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart, including doctors, nurses, therapists, aides and administrative staff, to servings of Kona Ice shaved ice treats.
Tire Kingdom also shared its Essential Business Appreciation Offer with the team to provide special discounts for front-line workers at all Tire Kingdom locations.

Escambia County COVID-19 daily hospitalizations have fallen below 200 this week for the first time since the year began.
There were 180 people currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Escambia County on Wednesday.
“COVID-19 hospitalizations between the three local hospital systems are starting to slowly go down, but we still want to get back to the 50-75 range,” Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson said. “It’s important that we continue to work together to bring these numbers down for our community and for our hospitals. Please be vigilant and take preventative actions, including wearing a mask, social distancing and washing your hands often.”
New COVID cases in Escambia and Santa Rosa
Escambia County last week reported its smallest weekly increase in new infections during January, but it was still the fifth-highest weekly total during the course of the pandemic.
From Jan. 25-31, the county reported 1,666 new infections, according to data from the Florida Department of Health. To date, Escambia County has reported a cumulative 31,029 COVID-19 cases.
Santa Rosa County last week added another 717 new cases to its total, which is at 15,513. Last week s new cases marked the ninth highest one-week total for the county.
Escambia County COVID-19 hospitalizations
One positive trend is the rate of hospitalizations in Escambia County. Since reaching an all-time record 291 patients on Jan. 14, the county s hospitalizations have drastically fallen during the past two weeks.
