EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - When the new Ascension St. Vincent YMCA opened up in downtown Evansville, that meant the old Y was no longer needed.
One portion of the building is being turned into apartments, but there are still parts of the building that are in limbo.
The old Downtown Evansville YMCA served the area well for many years, but now changes are coming. YMCA officials tell us they’re accepting ideas on what to do with it.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Police Department is investigating a shooting after a man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound around 7:30 Sunday night.
EPD Sgt. Wolf says that authorities were alerted after the victim showed up to Ascension St. Vincent after getting shot in the leg.
Authorities say he was conscious and alert when he arrived.
The victim told authorities that he was walking in the area of Linwood and Adams when a car pulled up beside him, shot him in the leg and drove off.

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Officials with Owensboro Health announced scheduling new COVID-19 vaccination appointments is now on hold until the vaccine allocation from the state goes up.
This comes as residents in the Tri-State worry there will not be enough vaccine to get their first, or even second, dose.
Officials with Owensboro Health say for patients who already have an appointment or those ready for a second dose of a vaccine, those doses are already accounted for. Those patients should not worry about their appointments being canceled.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Last Wednesday, Lori Vinson of Morganfield, Kentucky, walked right into the U.S. Capitol along with others who stormed the building. While inside, she recorded videos with her cell phone.
“I hope that is something I remember and say, ‘I’m glad I was a part of that 30 years from now,’” Vinson said.
“You know people have asked, ‘Are you sorry you’ve done that?’ Absolutely I am not. I am not sorry for that, I would do it again tomorrow,” she continued.
