US-based aerospace and defence technology company Northrop Grumman has reported a 6% increase in sales in the first quarter of the year. The figure increased from $8.6bn to $9.2bn on a year-on-year basis. The increase was attributed to the increase in sales at the Space Systems, Mission Systems and Aeronautics Systems segments, but the Defence Systems segment recorded a 17% drop in sales, primarily due to the impact of the company’s IT services divestiture.

US Army Contracting Command has issued an $11.62 million FMS modification for Northrop Grumman to install its Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS) in Poland. Work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of 31 December 2025, the DoD announced on 23 April. Poland is the first international customer for IBCS, with a $713 million contract for four firing units under the initial phase of the Wisla national air and missile defence programme. According to Shephard Defence Insight, it could decide to buy four more units in the second phase of Wisła.
