Joint venture partners Ørsted and Eversource developers of New York’s offshore wind farm, Sunrise Wind have launched a research partnership with Stony Brook University. The $5M commitment funded by the project will underwrite research initiatives specific to the advancement of offshore wind through Stony Brook’s Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center (AERTC) in connection with the Sunrise Wind Project.

The AERTC, a New York State Center of Excellence in Energy, is a true partnership of academic institutions, research institutions, energy providers and industrial corporations. The Center’s mission is to promote innovative energy research, education, and technology deployment with a focus on efficiency, conservation, renewable energy and nanotechnology applications for new sources of energy.

In an effort to provide drivers with effective and convenient charging options that enable long-distance electric vehicle (EV) travel, Eversource is joining the Electric Highway Coalition. Comprised of seven of the nation s leading utility companies, the coalition will advance clean energy by helping to enable EV drivers access to uninterrupted travel across major regions of the country.

Eversource is encouraging customers who are having difficulty paying their utility bills to participate in one of two online webinars to learn about solutions available to help. The webinars will include information about protection from service disconnection, programs to reduce unpaid balances with affordable monthly payments, extended payment plans and no-cost energy efficiency programs to lower energy bills. The webinars will be held Wednesday, February 24 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Advanced registration is required, customers can sign up to attend either session at Eversource.com/BillHelp.
