Civil society orgs: Sudanese gov and SPLM-N rebels must negotiate for peace

December 19 - 2020 JUBA In a joint statement on Friday, 28 civil society organisations in South Kordofan and Blue Nile state called on the government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North faction, led by Abdulaziz El Hilu (SPLM-N El Hilu), to return to the negotiating table in order to reach a lasting peace in Sudan. An international conference was held yesterday to discuss the most appropriate and effective solutions for implementing the Juba Peace Agreement. Kaju Shayen, representative of the civil society organisations told Radio Dabanga yesterday that the parties to the statement have been discussing the delay in the peace talks in the South Sudanese capital Juba for the past few days.

Darfur sit-in against UNAMID withdrawal continues

December 14 - 2020 KALMA / KABKABIYA The sit-in in Kalma camp for the displaced last week (RD correspondent) The sit-in at Kalma camp near Nyala, South Darfur, entered its second week. The protestors demand that the joint United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) will not be withdrawn at the end of 2020. “Protection of the displaced can not be entrusted to those who killed them”, one of the sit-in leaders said. Protesters chanted slogans and delivered speeches in front of the UNAMID mission offices in Kalma camp. One of the leaders of the sit-in called the exit of UNAMID “a conspiracy against the displaced people, a humanitarian crime and a historic failure of the United Nations (UN)”.

VIETNAM NEWS HEADLINES DECEMBER 12 Chia sẻ | FaceBookTwitter Email Copy Link Copy link bài viết thành công  12/12/2020    00:01 GMT+7 Vietnam-RoK consultancy and technology solution centre inaugurated The Vietnam – Republic of Korea consultancy and technology solution centre (VITASK) was inaugurated during a ceremony in Hanoi on December 11.  Funded by the official development assistance, the centre is a joint project between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) with an aim to help Vietnamese enterprises operating in automobiles, electricity and electronics join the global value chain.  Korean experts will offer technical support to Vietnamese businesses, provide training for engineer students, and build experimental infrastructure to review product functions.
