WASHINGTON, April 10. /TASS/. Russia should show more transparency regarding its actions near the border with Ukraine, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby told reporters on Friday.
When asked to comment on the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border, the spokesman said: We would like better clarity. We would like the Russians to be more transparent about what it is doing with this force buildup in Crimea and also along the eastern border of Ukraine. It’s not exactly clear.
In his opinion, Russia’s actions were not conducive to stability and security there. We call on Russia, as I’ve said in the past, to be more transparent about what they’re up to, what their intentions are, Kirby said.

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin considers military presence in the Arctic as an absolutely necessary element of the country s military construction, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
The Arctic continues to be an important region with strong economic potential, and Russia has extensive plans for its development that are being consistently implemented, Xinhua news agency quoted Peskov as saying at a daily briefing on Tuesday.
On Monday, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said that the US Department of Defence is very closely monitoring Russian military activities and infrastructure build-ups in the Arctic.

The Army s 18th Airborne Corps wants to hear soldiers ideas for decreasing military suicide, using a format previously employed to address issues such as sexual assault in the ranks and range management.
Five soldiers will be chosen May 6 to present their ideas to military leaders and subject matter experts at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as part of the unit s Dragon s Lair program a pitch-fest based on the format of ABC s Shark Tank show.
