The Idaho Department of Health held a video press conference yesterday, giving an update on the current status and future plans for covid-19 vaccination distribution in the state. Director Dave Jeppesen revealed that as of yesterday, 69,398 doses had been administered to Idahoans and doses given increased by 48 percent last week over the previous week. Jeppesen also officially revealed a new venture that will help with vaccine capacity.
Enrolled vaccine providers can use the grants to get more staffing and resources, purchase equipment and supplies and improve vaccine access for hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations. The grant amount each provider will receive will be based on the number of doses they administer. Jeppesen concluded by emphasizing the importance of wearing a mask, social distancing and the frequent washing of hands. You can get updated info on vaccines at coronavirus.idaho.gov.
