Ehlinger testified before the ethics committee on Wednesday, Fox News reported. The committee unanimously agreed that the accusations against von Ehlinger are “unbecoming” and that the representative should not receive pay or benefits, nor return to Capitol grounds and that a substitute legislator fill his place, the Idaho Press reported.
Von Ehlinger pleaded the Fifth during his testimony Wednesday at the recommendation of his legal counsel, Fox News reported. The committee said that his testimony cannot be used in criminal court cases under Idaho state law.
The accuser used the name Jane Doe to protect her identity during the hearing, but some blogs and Republican Rep. Priscilla Giddings had revealed her identity in social media posts, which were removed shortly after, according to Fox News.
The historic Idaho Legislature continues its marathon session as April will soon translate into May. Senator Christy Zito told us this week that the legislature should not adjourn until the dispute over Governor Little s use of emergency powers is decided. A new report says the Gem State could run out of money if the legislature does not adjourn soon.
The Idaho Press reports that a group called the Committee to Protect and Preserve the Idaho Constitution wrote a letter to the governor stating that the legislature must end for specific financial funding to take place. Most of the time, we hear this opinion from Democrats in Washington DC, not Republicans in Boise, Idaho.

The bill is now on the desk of Gov. Brad Little (R), awaiting his signature.
The Idaho Senate passed HB 377 with a vote of 27-8, following a 57-12 vote in the state House.
CRT investigator and writer Christopher Rufo tweeted the news that the Idaho House had passed the bill “banning critical race theory indoctrination in the state’s public schools”:

The Idaho State Legislature has become the first in the nation to put a bill on a governor s desk that would ban Marxist-based critical race theory from being taught in public schools.
Arkansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, Texas and West Virginia are among other states considering bans on such teaching, which regards America and Western Civilization as inherently racist.
It is a preventative measure. It does not indicate that we have a rampant problem in Idaho. But we don t want to get one, he said.
Democrats contend the bill violates First Amendment rights.
Sen. Janie Ward-Engelking said the idea that schools are brainwashing children with a liberal leftist indoctrination is not true, the Idaho Press reported.
