Whitecaps Annual Fundraiser Going Virtual
Was there anything normal about most of last year? Is this year starting out normal? Nope, you can t even use normal in a sentence to describe the past year. Abnormal, or Abby-normal as they said in Young Frankenstein, probably!
We lost the Whitecaps season last year, but certainly have big hopes of pull it off this year. However, things are still up in the air. So, for the first time in team history, the West Michigan Whitecaps annual Step Up to the Plate fundraiser is going virtual on Thursday, Janurary 28th.
Of course there are drawbacks to not having an in-person event, but the Caps say they have a full program to entertain anyone who wants to join.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – West Michigan’s premier winter event has been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Michigan Brewers Guild made the decision Wednesday to cancel its upcoming Winter Beer Festival “in the interest of health and safety in the continued wake of COVID-19.”
The festival, which annually brings more than 100 Michigan breweries with more than 1,000 unique beers to West Michigan, was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park.
“While this is yet another disappointment, with the new vaccines now being administered, we are looking forward to a more normal year later in 2021,” said Scott Graham, MBG Executive Director. “We thank you for your understanding and wish all of you a safe, healthy and Happy New Year.”
