L-Acoustics Shines at Adelaide’s Summer Sounds Festival 2021
Australia – South Australia’s Summer Sounds Festival was a four-week outdoor concert series offering the joy of live sound to a 2,100-capacity audience. Eighteen shows ran the whole month of January, with festival-goers safely and comfortably spaced in ‘Party Pods’ that accommodated four to six people each. The festival celebrated Australian artistes such as Bernard Fanning, Spiderbait, and Hayden James. Through the collaboration of Five Four Entertainment, Groove Events, and Secret Sounds, the festival promoters looked to Adelaide-based L-Acoustics rental network partner Novatech to provide that dynamic live sound festival-goers have been craving.

A database of “problematic” male music executives which young women could consult before a job interview is one idea mooted in the wake of sexual harassment concerns in the New Zealand music industry.
The sector is looking at solutions after the Jan. 24 publishing of results of a month-long investigation of sexual harassment in the New Zealand industry by #MeTooNZ and news publisher Stuff resulted in two executives losing their jobs.
An open letter on addressing the problem was signed by female performers Lorde, Anna Coddington, Anika Moa, Mel Parsons, Tami Neilson, Hollie Smith and Bic Runga.

Under The Southern Stars Marks First International Touring
Andrew McManus of Under The Southern StarsThe 11-date Under the Southern Stars tour from late April will become the first in 2021 with international names. Approval was granted after promoter One World Entertainment’s proposal of stringent COVID-safe procedures was green-lighted by the Border Force Commissioner following feedback from state governments, health officials and police departments.
“Promoters have had to learn new tools and skills, quickly and on the run, and make sure that we dot the I’s with so many departments,” One World director Andrew McManus told Pollstar. “It’s a completely new world.”
