Tama County Economic Development (TCED) in partnership with Region 6 Resource Partners and the Iowa Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will offer a number of free webinar resources to businesses in Tama County.
A series of six webinars will be available each Wednesday at noon beginning on May 12 and wrapping up on June 16.
“Offering high quality educational opportunities is an excellent way to nurture and grow our local businesses,” TCED Director Katherine Ollendieck said. “I am truly proud of this series and the role TCED has played to bring this webinar resource to Tama County. Encouraging participation is a top priority, the more Tama County participants the better. Online training can play a crucial role in helping our business community enhance their knowledge, learn new skills, and discover opportunities. Resources like this help strengthen and grow our local economy.”

Rebecca Runyon is 23 years old, and she has already started two businesses, sold a business and written a children’s book about entrepreneurship all with the goals of teaching young people to be business owners and making the world a better place in the process.
Runyon’s efforts earned her the 2021 Think Big Award from the Iowa Small Business Development Center.
Dave Biedenbach, regional director of the Iowa State University SBDC, nominated Runyon for the award.
“Rebecca has and continues to demonstrate her entrepreneurial spirit and determination and is always willing to help and advocate for women-owned businesses and young entrepreneurs in our growing ecosystem,” Biedenbach said in a news release.
