Iowa Auditor Rob Sand has announced his findings from an investigation into the Floyd County Sexual Assault Response Team, according to KIMT. The investigation was requested after concerns were raised about the conduct of the former Floyd County Attorney’s Office Victim/Witness Coordinator, Janelle Herrmann. Sand found more than $1,500 in improper disbursements which included over $1,000 of cash withdrawals and entertainment expenses, $175 for registration fees for 5k race participants, and $140 of purchases on a prepaid debit card. Herrmann repaid $640 of the more than $1,500. $313 of undeposited collections was also identified. That money came from T-shirt sales and money deposited into Herrmann’s personal account.
