Proper preparations for ENSREG experts visit to Belarusian nuclear power plant emphasized
MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian nuclear power plant had all the necessary conditions for experts of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) to work, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.

(Bloomberg) A visit by European experts to review safety measures at a new nuclear power plant in Belarus this week has been canceled after local officials didn’t participate in an organizational meeting, the European Union energy commissioner said.
Belarus’ regulator said it remains ready to host the mission at a later date.

The visit to the Astravets station, where the process of coming into service began last month, follows allegations by neighboring Lithuania of safety issues at the 2,400-megawatt plant. At a summit last week, EU leaders underlined the importance of ensuring the facility meets standards recognized by the bloc.
European experts to visit Belarusian nuclear power plant on 16-18 December
MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – Experts of the European Commission and the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) will visit the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant on 16-18 December as part of a peer review of the national action plan compiled as a result of the stress tests, which were carried out in 2018, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
The group will include experts from Belgium, Austria, Germany, and Ukraine. The group will be led by Petteri Tiippana, Director General of the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK).
