Commission welcomes political agreement on the Cybersecurity Competence Centre and Network

Met dank overgenomen van Europese Commissie (EC), gepubliceerd op vrijdag 11 december 2020. Vandaag hebben de EU-instellingen, onder voorbehoud van formele goedkeuring door het Europees Parlement en de Raad van de EU, een politiek akkoord bereikt over het kenniscentrum en netwerk voor cyberbeveiliging. Dat initiatief heeft tot doel de technologische en industriële cyberbeveiligingscapaciteiten van de EU te verbeteren en te versterken. Verder wordt er bijgedragen tot een veilige online-omgeving. Het kenniscentrum cyberbeveiliging (dat in Boekarest zal worden gevestigd) en het netwerk van nationale coördinatiecentra hebben tot doel de Europese cyberbeveiligingscapaciteiten te versterken, onze economie en onze samenleving te beschermen tegen cyberaanvallen, excellentie op onderzoeksgebied in stand te houden en te bevorderen en het concurrentievermogen van de sector in de Unie op dit gebied te versterken.
