He was meant to be there, he was meant to be a pundit alongside myself and Derval. It’ll be a sad day. I think that’s when people will realise that Jerry’s not here anymore.

Nadia Power is one of many Irish athletes scaling new heights at the minute.
DAVID GILLICK HAS hailed the “phenomenal” buzz around Irish athletics at the moment and shared his belief that the Olympic Games will go ahead this summer.
Domestically and internationally, Irish athletes have scaled remarkable heights over the past few weeks, with national records and personal bests falling like dominoes particularly on the middle-distance scene.
Russian athletes ruled out of European Indoor Athletics Championships Thursday, 25 February 2021
The Russian Athletics Federation (RusAF) has confirmed its athletes will not participate at next month s European Indoor Championships in Poland as its restoration plan will not be finished in time for the event.
There had been hope that World Athletics may restore the Authorised Neutral Athletes (ANA) scheme, which allows Russian competitors who meet certain criteria to take part at elite events, prior to the Championships beginning on March 5.
But World Athletics has said it will not consider the status of the RusAF or the ANA initiative until its next meeting on March 17 and 18.

NADIA POWER continued the impressive form that recently saw her twice break the Irish indoor record, with a third-place finish at the final World Indoor Tour in Madrid today.
The 23-year-old star produced a time of 2:01.55 in the 800m, which saw her finish behind the winner, Habitam Alemu of Ethiopia (1.58.94) and the runner-up, Esther Guerrero Puigdevall of Spain (2:01.13).

The extraordinary turn of events in Irish women s 800 metre running took another twist last evening as 25-year-old Síofra Cléirigh Buttner smashed the Irish indoor record set only last Wednesday by Nadia Power.
With the Irish team to travel to Poland next week for the European Indoor Athletics Championships due to be named later today, the selectors now have to factor the Dundrum South Dublin athlete into their plans as her time of 2 minutes 0.58 seconds was a substantial improvement on Power s 2.00.98 mark set in Torun.
Cléirigh Buttner was racing in the American Track League meeting at Fayetteville where she was second behind Heather Maclean of the USA in a close finish with victory only eluding the Irish woman by just .06 of a second as she closed hard on the lead near the finish line.
