SCS has submitted an application for rPS as food contact material to the EFSA. The material on which the European Food Safety Authority is expected to give an opinion, covers multiple end-consumer applications, including hot and cold beverage containers, yoghurt pots and trays. It follows several successful tests. According to SCS, the challenge tests confirmed that the material complies with food grade standards through mechanical recycling. The tests, using super-cleaning technology, delivered a recycled polymer with high purity, based on post-consumer food packing waste from the separate collection in different European countries.
Occasionally, stomach bloating can indicate a more serious underlying condition.
One possible cause is gastroparesis - a long-term (chronic) condition whereby the stomach cannot empty in the normal way.
Food passes through the stomach slower than usual, which proves fertile ground for bloating and other digestive complaints.
According to the NHS, it s thought to be the result of a problem with the nerves and muscles that control how the stomach empties.
