Paris, Dec 17 (efe-epa).- French president Emmanuel Macron on Thursday tested positive for Covid-19 and will self-isolate for a week, an announcement that has had knock-on effects for several other high profile leaders and politicians who have been in recent contact with him.
The Élysée Palace said the head of state, who had developed some symptoms, would continue to work during his self-isolation.
The announcement has sparked a domino effect for other senior European politicians.
Macron met with Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez and the head of the European Council Charles Michel on Monday during an event to mark the 60th anniversary of the OECD.
