Hydrogen Days 2021 | www fch europa eu

Hydrogen Days 2021 The Hydrogen Days conference continuously attracts important players and stakeholders in the hydrogen technology sector and supports the international networking of specialists in the sector. A unique aspect of the Hydrogen Days conference represents its role in coordinating the activities in Central and Eastern Europe, i.e. in a region with an important space still open for first introduction of new hydrogen technologies. Rapid development in hydrogen technologies is recently accompanied by an increasing enthusiasm among experts in the commercial, as well as in the public sectors. In 2020, this enthusiasm was confirmed not only by the publication of several national and the EU hydrogen strategies, but also by the announcement of the first national calls of interests of IPCEI s (Important Projects of Common European Interest), especially on green hydrogen production. The year 2021 will bring the implementation of the new EU hydrogen strategies and alliances, such

HYDROGEN REFUELING SOLUTIONS (HRS): HRS receives an order from TOTAL for a latest generation hydrogen refueling station

(2) HRS receives an order from TOTAL for a latest generation hydrogen refueling station Champ-sur-Drac, March 11, 2021 - HRS, European designer and manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations, today announces that it has received a new order from Total Marketing France, a subsidiary of Total, to supply and install a dual-pressure hydrogen refueling station on the site of one of its customers. The 200 kg per day station, designed specifically to meet the needs of Total s teams, will be able to refuel all types of vehicles simultaneously thanks to its dual-pressure high-flow system (two distribution pressures: 350 and 700 bars). It will have an extended hydrogen storage capacity of 190 kg and will be designed to be easily dismantled and transported, to be quickly installed again at other sites, a first in Europe.

Crazy about the wind – Alan Deidun

It is heartening to observe that future energy generation means are currently causing representatives of both major political parties to split hairs. Offshore wind generation, specifically through floating wind turbines, appears to have become the latest craze, with the Nationalist Party, through Ryan Callus, proposing a floating wind turbine installation by 2036 and the government revealing a submission made to the EU’s Innovation Fund in 2018 for a similar €200 million farm (dubbed ‘Green Island’) to the northwest of Gozo. The major driver behind this renewed interest in large-scale renewable energy production is obviously the Green Deal, which has set the bar very high in terms of clean energy production targets by declaring 2050 as the ‘carbon-neutrality’ target date for the European continent.
