The company has filed a trademark application for a device named “Z Roll.”
Samsung may be looking to expand its line of foldable devices by introducing a rollable phone. According to folks over at
GalaxyClub, the company has filed for a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), possibly revealing the name for its first rollable smartphone.
The trademark application is for a device named the “Z Roll.” If we go by the names of Samsung’s current foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip, it’s not too difficult to imagine a rollable phone called the Galaxy Z Roll. Then again, Samsung could be just covering its bases by acquiring the moniker in case it ever decides to launch a rollable phone.
