June 2021 is the Hottest June in History of America With Recordbreaking Temperature

June 2021 welcomes the summer season with extreme heat and drought, surpassing warmest temperature records set in North America, according to European Union s Copernicus program new data. The heat record measured by billions of observations from satellite, aircraft and weather stations around the world found that the month of June was the fourth-hottest month recorded worldwide and the second-warmest recorded in Europe. The North-east region of Europe has warmed the most at its peak, while heatwave conditions remained in western North America which broke heat records. Smaller summer harmful algal bloom of 3 predicted for western Lake Erie

The Beacon This is an algal bloom in Saginaw Bay, as seen by aircraft during a flyover in summer of 2019. This airborne campaign is ongoing in conjunction with NOAA weekly Lake Erie monitoring and biweekly sampling in Saginaw Bay. The flyovers are done in collaboration with researchers at NASA Glenn. (Zachary Haslick, Aerial Associates Photography Inc.) The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and its research partners are forecasting western Lake Erie will experience a smaller-than-average harmful algal bloom this summer of 3 on a scale of 10. A relatively dry spring will lead to a repeat of last year’s mild bloom.
