Government confirms funding to HOPE Foundation hospital in Kolkata to cope with COVID-19   As India battles with the record surge in COVID-19, the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed funding for the Cork-based HOPE Foundation, to support running costs of their hospital in Kolkata. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence, Simon Coveney TD, today said: I am delighted to be able to confirm €120,000 in funding for the HOPE Foundation’s vital work in fighting COVID-19 in Kolkata. HOPE have seen a generous public response to their appeal for equipment and medicines. This support from Irish Aid will enable them to cover the vital running costs of the hospital - from the frontline doctors and nurses treating the sick, to nutritious foods which will help patients recover.
