Yeni Akit newspaper refers to the use of sound security systems at the Greek-Turkish border to prevent an attempted new mass entry of illegal immigrants into Greece.
“Greece installs deafening security system on its border with Turkey” is the title of the article, which also mentions other projects built in the region in order to act as a deterrent.
“Greece has accelerated the construction of a steel fence 26.5 kilometers long and 4.5 meters high in the area of Feres at a cost of 63 million euros.

A pro-migrant group called the Réquisitions collective organised a large occupation of a Paris park involving around 300 migrants who demanded the French government give them housing.
The occupation of the Villemin garden, located in the 10th district of Paris, began on Sunday and continued into Tuesday, with migrants sleeping in small groups in sleeping bags in various parts of the park.

Sheikh Faruk Ahmed, like many other young men in his community, finished primary school but couldn’t afford to attend high school. From the age of 14 he worked to support his family but, since he lacked academic qualifications, he couldn’t secure well-paid, permanent jobs and ultimately struggled to earn enough to support those who relied on him. In Bangladesh, he was just one of the 2.2 million young job seekers who join the labour force every year, most of whom cannot be absorbed by the domestic labour market.

The International and Ibero American Foundation for Administration and Public Policy (FIIAAP), a Spain based foundation, has commenced training of relevant government agencies on the use of social media in combating human trafficking.
Mr Rafael Rios, team leader of Action Against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants (A-TIPSOM), a European Union-funded project of FIIAAP, said this in his opening remarks at a two-day workshop organised by the foundation on Wednesday in Owerri.
Rios, represented by the project’s Technical Advisor on Communication, Mr Joseph Osuigwe, mentioned the beneficiary agencies to include the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons ( NAPTIP) and the Nigeria Immigration Service.
