Czech defence minister on working visit to Mali

Czech Defence Minister Lubomír Metnar is visiting Mali together with the ministers of defence of France and Estonia, countries which have troops in the European Union Training Mission in Mali. Jan Pejšek, spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, said the agenda of the talks includes a visit to EUTM headquarters as well as joint talks with Mali s leaders. The Czech Republic currently has 25 soldiers in the European Union Training Mission in Mali. Their tasks include the protection of EUTM headquarters in Bamako and the training of Malian soldiers in cooperation with other nations contributing to the mission.
