Daley and Lee took the title with a final tally of 477.57, as Britain celebrated its first golds in the diving pool of the championships. After receiving 43 scores of either 9.0 or 9.5 out of a possible 54 the British pair finished 5.6 points ahead of Aleksandr Bondar and Viktor Minibaev of Russia who took silver following a high-quality battle with 471.96. Bronze medals went to Timo Barthel and Patrick Hausding of Germany who finished significantly behind the top two with a final total of 424.32 points.

The silver medal went to Evgenii Kuznetsov and Nikita Shleikher of Russia who scored 415.47 points. The podium was completed by Ukraine’s Oleksandr Gorshkovozov and Oleg Kolodiy who scored 409.92 points. Fourth place went to Lorenzo Marsaglia and Giovanni Tocci of Italy with 386.82 points while Kacper Lesiak and Andrzej Rzeszutek of Poland finished fifth with 363.99 points.

Diving and artistic swimming to open delayed European Aquatics Championships Sunday, 9 May 2021 The 2020 European Swimming League (LEN) European Aquatics Championships in Budapest are finally set to take place after a coronavirus-enforced delay. The LEN postponed the competition by a year to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Action at Danube Arena in the Hungarian capital is due to begin with diving and artistic swimming. Diving is scheduled to run from tomorrow until next Sunday (May 16), while artistic swimming is set to run from tomorrow until Friday (May 14). Open water swimming at Lupa Lake is scheduled to follow from Wednesday (May 12) to May 16, before swimming gets underway on May 17 and runs through to 23.
