New member appointments to MAC
Their appointments follow a rigorous recruitment process that was regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

Dina Kiwan
A Professor of Comparative Education at the University of Birmingham, Professor Kiwan has an interdisciplinary background in psychology, sociology and education. Her broad research programme focuses on citizenship, inclusion and is interdisciplinary and comparative in scope. Her interests centre around sociological and politico-philosophical examinations of inclusive citizenship through the lens of education policy, naturalisation policy and migration policy, in particular in the context of pluralist / multicultural societies, and also societies in conflict.

NEW YORK Drugmaker Pfizer has begun the process to earn full U.S. regulatory approval for its COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 16 and older.
That gives Pfizer and German partner BioNTech a shot at winning the first full approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Italy s foreign minister Luigi Di Maio on Friday praised the role that the European Union is playing in tackling COVID-19, saying the bloc s response to the pandemic has shown its strength and unity. Europe has been able to react firmly to the pandemic and with determination, remaining united and changing its approach to the crisis, Di Maio said.
He was addressing the State of the Union conference organised by the European University Institute in Florence.
Di Maio highlighted the bloc s considerable ability to react in the face of unexpected adversity, showing ample resilience .

Professor Dina Kiwan and Professor Sergi Pardos-Prado have been appointed as members of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) for 3 years from 1 May 2021.
