This transpired at an extraordinary meeting of the prosecutors’ college of the Supreme Judicial Council, at which a procedure was launched for the selection of delegated prosecutors for Bulgaria at the European Public Prosecutor s Office . The applicants must have worked as prosecutors for no less than 8 years, they must be aged under 58, have a good command of English and a very good professional assessment. They have 30 days to submit their applications. A three-member commission will review their applications, there will be a hearing of the applicants shortlisted, after which the entire college will put the nominations to the vote.

Vandaag heeft het Europees Parlement nieuwe regels aangenomen die de rol van het Europees Bureau voor fraudebestrijding (OLAF) versterken en de weg effenen voor een vlotte samenwerking met het nieuwe Europees Openbaar Ministerie (EOM). Het EOM zal naar verwachting begin 2021 met zijn werkzaamheden beginnen, en in de herziene Verordening 883/2013 (de zogenaamde OLAF-verordening) wordt uiteengezet hoe OLAF samen met de aanklagers van het EOM ervoor zal zorgen dat EU-financiering naar behoren wordt beschermd.
