Skeleton Technologies to partner with Marubeni to bring its graphene SuperBattery to Asian automotive market Skeleton Technologies, the largest European manufacturer of ultracapacitors, and Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan’s largest conglomerates with more than €50 billion of annual revenue, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to support commercial scale-up and customer acquisition for Skeleton’s new generation of ultracapacitors called the SuperBattery in the Asian automotive sector. The technology can serve the fast-growing electrified vehicles and hydrogen transportation markets. The SuperBattery promises 10 times more energy density than current generation ultracapacitors, a reduction in cost by 90%, a 15-second charging time, a lifetime of more than 200,000 cycles and will excel at 10-15 minute applications.

Tesla To Get $1 2 Billion In German Subsidies For Local Gigafactory

Tesla looks set to receive at least 1 billion euros ($1.2 billion) in public funding from Germany for establishing its new Gigafactory in the country. Last week, the European Union approved a plan to give state aid to Tesla, BMW and others to support the production of electric vehicle batteries, while helping the block reduce its reliance on imports from China. This 2.9 billion euro ($3.5 billion) European Battery Innovation project will include incentives for more than 40 companies. Business Insider notes that German government sources have stated that Tesla will receive more than 1 billion euros in subsidies from the federal government and the regional state of Brandenburg where it is currently building its first Gigafactory in Europe.
