Speaking after last night’s European Council meeting, the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said leaders were voiced anger at the “utterly unacceptable hijacking of a Ryanair flight by Belarus authorities.”
“Roman Protasevich has to be released immediately,” she said.
“We will put pressure on the regime until it finally respects the freedom of media, the freedom of press and the freedom of opinion.”
