Pink Offers To Pay Norwegian Handball Team s Fine For Outfit Rule

Stewart Perrie 0:24, 26 July 2021 BST Pink has offered to pay the fine given to the Norwegian handball team for their defiance of the sport s bikini bottom rule. The team flouted clothing regulations for their European Beach Handball Championships bronze medal match against Spain in Bulgaria last weekend (18 July), which they ultimately lost. The European Handball Federation (EHF) subsequently handed the team a €1,500 (£1,300) fine for improper clothing . Uniform regulations state that women should wear a bikini where the top should be a tight-fitting sports bra with deep openings at the arms , and that the bottom must not be more than ten centimetres on the sides .

Share on Twitter Australian athletes are calling for a change to ‘outdated’ rules after Norway’s beach handball team was fined thousands of dollars for wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms.  The European Handball Federation fined the team over $2,000 over “a case of improper clothing” in the bronze medal match against Spain in Bulgaria. International Handball Federation rules stipulate female players must wear tops and bikini bottoms, while men wear singlet tops and shorts. Rose Boyd plays for Australia’s beach handball team. She told The Feed no athlete should be forced to wear a uniform that they do not feel comfortable in.
