TOKYO - Female athletes have fought long and hard for the right to choose what they wear when they compete at the Olympics, and at the Tokyo Games, more and more athletes and fans are speaking out and taking action.

A member of Norway s beach handball team has spoken out after the team were fined for refusing to wear skimpy bikini bottoms.
The team decided to wear shorts instead of bikini bottoms at the European Beach Handball Championships against Spain, but were slapped with a €1,500 fine for not meeting uniform requirements. It s so shocking that we have to pay for not playing in our panties, team member Tonje Lerstad told the BBC.
