TRIADELPHIA The Ohio County Development Authority is expected to receive this week a proposed contract for Greg Stewart to manage The Highlands development.
Ohio County Commissioner Don Nickerson said a seven-member committee charged with negotiating the contract has met, and will present its recommendations to the full OCDA board soon, probably this week.
“We’re trying to get a meeting scheduled for Thursday,” he said. A time and date hasn’t yet been announced.
Nickerson could not reveal any details about the contract to be presented to the board.
“As nothing is final until adopted by the OCDA board, we have decided not to release the committee recommendation until presented to the board,” he said.

TRIADELPHIA The Ohio County Development Authority members say Greg Stewart is doing a good job managing The Highlands property, and they want him to continue in that role even as they continue to negotiate his contract.
Stewart has served as manager at The Highlands since leaving his job as county administrator at the start of 2021. The OCDA, though, thus far has failed to approve a contract with Stewart despite multiple agreements coming before the board.
At issue is whether he should be hired as a county employee, or as a private contractor.
Following an executive session that lasted more than one hour and 45 minutes, OCDA members passed a motion authorizing six of its members to work out terms with Stewart.
WHEELING – David Lindelow has announced his retirement as president and CEO of the Wheeling Park Commission.
“It has been my great honor and privilege to work alongside the Wheeling Park commissioners and countless other community leaders to further the mission and vision of Oglebay Park,” Lindelow said. “Serving the Ohio Valley by furthering the development of this incredible park system has been a highlight of my career.”
Under Lindelow’s leadership, Oglebay has experienced exponential growth and a myriad of park improvements including the refurbishment of 30 cottages; a total renovation of Wheeling Park’s ice rink; a park-wide beautification project addressing much-needed maintenance and paving projects; and a total renovation of all Wilson Lodge meeting and event spaces slated for completion in 2021.
