OSWEGO COUNTY â Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang announced Friday, April 23, that 24 additional residents tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total cumulative number of positive cases since the county began monitoring for COVID-19 in March 2020 to 7,545. There are currently 220 active positive cases.
Huang reminds residents that the virus is still active in our community. âOver the last several weeks, the Countyâs weekly accumulated new case counts have been around 160,â he said. âOur community remains at a âhigh community transmissionâ level, according to the CDC report. This puts us with 44% of counties across the country and closer to 90% of counties across the state.â
OSWEGO â Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang announced Wednesday, April 21, that 27 additional residents tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total cumulative number of positive cases since the county began monitoring for COVID-19 in March 2020 to 7,497. There are currently 231 active positive cases.
Huang continues to urge eligible residents to get vaccinated. âWe must all do our part to reduce the spread of the virus,â he said. âGet a vaccine if you are eligible and follow COVID-19 protocols. Wear a face mask, social distance, wash your hands frequently and avoid non-essential gatherings. These are the best ways to protect our families and communities and get us through the pandemic.â
OSWEGO COUNTY â The Oswego County Health Department continues to join forces with community partners to bring COVID-19 testing and vaccinations to county residents.
Appointments are still available for the COVID-19 vaccination clinic scheduled for Monday, April 26 at Laker Hall on the SUNY Oswego campus in Oswego. First dose shots of the Moderna vaccine will be administered to people between 4 and 6 p.m. Those who sign up for this clinic must be able to return on Monday, May 24 for their second dose.
To register for a COVID-19 vaccination, go to https://health.oswegocounty.com/ and click on the link for “Local Information About the COVID-19 Vaccination.” The Oswego County COVID-19 Hotline is open from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday to help people make appointments as well.
